Some methods say not to drink because they are all about tactics. I don't use tactics or methods, I've moved past that and into the "new wave" of pickup of changing who and how you are rather than using tactics and gambits. With that said I think it's important to practice picking up women sober so that you do not rely on alcohol as a crutch. I've had great pickups sober and amazing pickups drunk!
